About the Alchemy Art Galleries
ALBUM 1 - Mutus Liber. Mutus Liber (Latin: "Silent Book") is a wordless alchemical text published in France in 1677. It deals with the extraction of the First Matter from dew, but also carries mysterious and powerful secrets about the processes of spiritual alchemy.
ALBUM 2 - Nicolas Flamel Notebooks. Nicolas Flamel, who was born around 1330, lived in Paris and was a successful bookseller who discovered an ancient book on alchemy by Abraham the Jew. Using the book, he and his wife Pernelle are said to have discovered the Philosopher's Stone and Elixir of Life.
ALBUM 3 - Splendor Solis. Splendor Solis (Latin: "Splendor or the Sun") was written around 1530 by Salomon Trismosin, the teacher of Paracelsus. The symbolic process shows the alchemical death and rebirth of the king, and incorporates a series of seven flasks, each depicting an operation in the creation of the Philosopher's Stone.
The images in these online galleries are a small part of the original alchemical art used in the Alchemy Home Study Program. Some drawings are meant for meditation to reveal some of the deeper principles of alchemy, while others have more practical uses in illustrating operations and equipment. Students enrolled in the program are able to download hundreds of images for use in their studies, as well as hundred of illustrated eBooks.
